Ross is a technician in the Design Technology department at the Plume School in Maldon, where he has lived for most of his life.  He has worked with young people, particularly teenagers, in various formats over the last 37 years and is delighted to be involved with this project that will reach out to the young people of Kapiri Mposhi. Ross is also chair of an independent youth camp.  He is married to Bertie and has two adult sons.

 Bertie currently works in local government but spent 11 years as a teaching assistant at a primary school.  She worked alongside Ross in church youth work for many of those 37 years and is still involved with the youth camp, where she and Ross have only recently stepped down as leaders after many years.  She is passionate that education should be available to all children. Bertie & Ross have been married for 33 years and work well as a team.

 

Martin Hodder

Martin Hodder – Treasurer

Martin is married to Gillian and has two sons Adrian and Stuart. He is a computer programmer in Geographic information systems (GIS) and an active member of Longmeadow Evangelical church. He is very excited about being involved in this project and hopes that many children will be helped through it.

James is a chartered accountant, and restructuring professional from London. Having joined the board of trustees in 2013, James is fully behind the tangible difference being made in the lives of so many through the work of the trust.

 

 

 

David PowerDavid Power

David was for many years one of the Pastors of Longmeadow Evangelical Church, Stevenage and is also Karolyn Simbeye’s father. He and his wife have recently relocated to Kabwe, Zambia, to work at a Mission Training Centre there, but continues to be greatly excited by the vision for the Vinjeru School. He hopes to be involved as a direct link between the School itself and the rest of the Trustees back in UK.

 

 

Jon FieldJonathan Field – Secretary

Jonathan is a Sign Language Interpreter and runs a Sign Language Interpreter Training company in Sheffield. He is married with two children and loves photography. He is excited about the idea that a school can meet the needs of the local community, making a measurable difference to the lives of many families.

Gillian is Martin’s wife. She works part-time giving pastoral care to the women and elderly of Longmeadow Evangelical Church. She is enthusiastic about  Vinjeru Trust School and loves the fact that a relatively small amount of work done here can make such a big difference to the children in Zambia.
